With more than 12 years of experience and operations in a mining region with over 460 years of history, Napoleon Gold Mine has established itself as one of the most relevant gold mining companies in Colombia. Our mine carries out exploration, production, and commercialization activities in the municipality of Remedios (Antioquia), one of the most renowned gold-producing areas in the country and the world.
Remedios is located in northeastern Antioquia, approximately 195 kilometers (120 miles) from Medellín, the second most important city in the country and one of its main economic and industrial centers. The municipality is part of a historic gold belt that has been continuously exploited for more than four centuries.
Napoleon Gold Mine is strategically located over one of the most important and emblematic gold veins in Colombia: La Veta del Cura, also known as Veta Roja, Veta de la Iglesia, or Priest’s Vein, one of the oldest and most important in the world.
La Veta del Cura runs beneath the church of Remedios, one of the oldest churches in Colombia, founded in 1560, located just 900 meters from our company’s operating area.
Finally, La Veta del Cura stands out as a highly valuable asset within the Latin American and international context, being one of the largest underground gold mines in Colombia. Its geological potential, centuries-old history, and strategic location make this area, with documented mining activity since 1933, a fundamental region for gold mining in Colombia, where Napoleon Gold Mine conducts its operations.
